Darren Glendenning

At Hunter Orthopaedic Surgery, we take great pride in the fact that we can provide our patients rehabilitation advice in preparation for surgery and on an “as needed basis” throughout their surgical journey. This type of multidisciplinary approach dramatically improves patient outcomes. Darren Glendenning is an APA Sports Physiotherapist and is an integral part of our team in providing our patients with the highest quality of care. Darren provides consultations at the practice alongside Dr Osborne and Dr Nixon.

Darren graduated with a Physiotherapy degree from Sydney University in 1993. In 2005, he completed his Sports Physiotherapy Masters at Griffith University in Queensland. In 2006 he became a Titled APA Sports Physiotherapist. In 2019 he completed a Professional Certificate in Pain Sciences at the University of South Australia.

Darren has a special interest in shoulder, back and lower limb injuries, pre & post-operative rehabilitation and pain. He is passionate about helping people recover from injury or surgery and continually strives to further his knowledge. Personal interests include family time with his wife and three amazing children, 'coffee-time' with great friends, mountain biking, running, boating and travelling. He is a terrible fisherman!

Kate Hamment

Kate graduated from Newcastle University with a physiotherapy degree. Since then she has gained experience working with elite athletes, having done an internship with both the Newcastle Jets A-League team and the Newcastle Knights NSW cup squad. She currently works with the U17 Newcastle Knights team as their physiotherapist. In 2022 she completed her Level 1 Strength and Conditioning Certificate.

Kate has a special interest in lower limb injuries, pre and post-operative rehabilitation and pain. Personal interests include playing with her groodle Lenny, playing hockey and running with friends.

Hayd'n Baragry

Hayd'n graduated as a Physiotherapist with honours from the University of Newcastle.

Hayd'n is passionate about helping people get back to their best and reach their potential. He has broad sporting experience in Rugby League and Union, Soccer, Crossfit, Olympic Lifting and now Running, allowing him to understand the demands of sport and personalise treatment accordingly. Hayd'n has a keen interest in sporting injuries and getting the most out of athletes by improving their movement and mechanics in their specific area. He prides himself on working together with his patients and continuing to further his knowledge and treatment modalities.
